Part 2: Fort Wilderness

Can you tell that the busyness of the Christmas season is upon me?  I can't believe I'm just now getting around to sharing the second part of our camping adventure at Fort Wilderness.  Sheesh.  I have been up to my elbows in sewing and wrapping presents and tennis.  But I digress.  Let's get back to Fort Wilderness.

On our last day there, we kept things low key as we knew we'd have to pack up and head out.  The big kids played games- Monopoly and Go Fish, to be exact.  Havi dug in the dirt, climbed all over the golf cart, and played with the sewer hook up.

Then the big girls liked Havi's idea of digging in the dirt and decided to join her.

Then we decided to head over to the stables for a pony ride for the girls (the boys were too tall).

Then we went to take a look at the big horses.  

Sorry, I'm not a horse person.  So I don't know what breed they were.

Then it was time for some lunch.

And after that, it was time to head out.  Both Caleb and Madeline were so sad thinking about how the weekend with their friends was over.  They had such a great time.  And Patrick and I had a fabulous time too.  Greg and Cheryl are just awesome people.  It's great to hang out with people that 'get' where you've been and where you're going on this journey of adoption that we chose.  The church we attend is rather large, a megachurch.  So we are thankful that the Lord allowed our paths to finally cross.

Well, as I type we are preparing ourselves for yet another tennis tournament.  In case you're wondering how Caleb did last time, he played very well. He finished in 4th place against his toughest competitors yet, in a large draw.   He continues to play kids who are several years older and with years of experience, and he plays very well. He wins some and loses some and continues to improve each week.  I really need to take some videos of some recent play because he's not the same player from even two months ago.  It's hard to believe he's only been playing five months.  He clearly doesn't play like it.  He makes us so proud.
